We know that coming to a new practitioner for the first time can make some people a little nervous. Will the practitioner understand where I’ve got pain? Am I signing up for lots of appointments? Will the treatment work?
At Align our focus is on you, the patient. Our aim is to make you feel better whether that’s relieving pain or increasing your mobility. Key to that is taking the necessary time to understand exactly how you feel and what you want to achieve.
Taking Time to Listen to You
At your first assessment or treatment we will spend time listening carefully to you and asking questions to make sure that we understand where you feel pain, what activities cause the pain and how it makes you feel.
If you are coming to us about a mobility issue, we make a thorough assessment of how you feel your mobility is limited and the activities you would like to be able to do more easily.
Involving You in the Choice of the Treatment
Once we have made our initial assessment, we will make a diagnosis. We will then discuss the different treatment options available and explain how we feel these will help you. We will talk about the number of treatments that might be required based on our experience and we’ll be very open about what that will cost, so you know up front what to expect.
Everyone is different. The speed of recovery, the type of treatment and the end goal are going to personal to you. We are very flexible in our approach and want to work with you using a mixture of treatments and home exercises, giving you control over your recovery and at a pace that works for you.
Getting Started with the Treatment
If you opt for the £19 New Patient Assessment, the appointment will last 45 minutes. You will discuss everything as above and then you have the choice to decide whether to book a treatment.
It may be that we feel that our treatment is not suitable for you, or we may recommend that another type of treatment by a different provider will be best for you. Either way, you should come out knowing and understanding what action to take next and it will be up to you how you proceed.
