COULD YOU BE OUR NEW OSTEOPATH?

Align Body Clinic has been owned and operated since 2011 by husband-and-wife team Jay Ruddock and Sheena Harper.  Our clinic has a very strong reputation for executing effective treatment plans for a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and painful conditions.  To do this, we employ evidence focused interventions including manual therapy techniques, exercise prescription, medical acupuncture, and ultrasound. We both have our own specialities and work in our own distinct ways.

Jay uses a range of manual therapy techniques, including myofascial release and manipulation. His practice has a strong focus on exercise rehabilitation by the prescription of strength and conditioning exercises; he uses this to specialise in running injuries and conditions related to exercise/sports.

Sheena uses a wide variety of skills, including soft tissue manipulation, joint manipulation, myofascial release, and acupuncture. Sheena tailors her treatments to individual patient needs to provide relief of acute and chronic conditions as well as supporting and encouraging patients to improve their general health going forward.

Administration of the business is mainly electronic using Cliniko software for the diary, online bookings, note taking, and communications. We also employ a remote reception service.

WHY DO WE WANT AN ASSOCIATE?

At present, our clinic is running at capacity with a waiting list in operation most weeks. We intend to grow the practice over the next 5 years to approximately double in size in terms of patient appointments per week. To do this, we need at least one more osteopath to see those patients.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?
  • Being available for two shifts a week, preferably on non-consecutive days. Saturdays are possible if you prefer.   There is also the option to increase your hours as you build your list.
  • Treatment of a wide variety of patient presentations.
  • Working closely with the other osteopaths to maximise treatment outcomes.
  • Participation in internal marketing, such as offers/promotions, and the seeking of feedback from patients.
  • Dealing with incoming enquiries and patient communications promptly.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN AN ASSOCIATE?
  • Someone with excellent hands-on skills, including proficiency in manipulation and soft tissue treatments.
  • An effective communicator who can confidently relay information to patients regarding their diagnosis, their potential outcomes, and treatment protocol.
  • An osteopath who is motivated to build a busy list and to develop their clinical and communication skills.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US?

The role is an associate position using a fee split for renumeration, 50/50 split in the first year, 55/45 after one year, and 60/40 after 2 years.

We will provide full training in how the clinic works, and we will also (if necessary) provide training sessions on patient communications that will help you improve clinical outcomes and patient adherence to treatment programs.  We will have regular ‘touch-points’ to address any issues that arise or to provide support as needed.

Once you are settled, we will launch marketing campaigns that would be aimed at getting patients for an area you wish to specialize in. This will help you develop an area of clinical expertise as well as building a strong list of satisfied patients. To help you develop this further once a year we would also contribute to a CPD course to help build your skills.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION?

To apply for this role, please email Jay Ruddock at jay@alignbodyclinic.co.uk, enclosing a CV and a covering letter explaining your interest in the role.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION PROCESS?

Our selection process will have three stages;

  • We will review your CV and covering letter to gauge your suitability for the post.
  • If we think you may be suitable for the position, we will arrange to have a short telephone conversation to find out a bit more about you. This also offers you the chance to ask us any questions you have about the role.
  • We would then invite you for an interview at the clinic, where we hope to find out more about your skills as an osteopath and how your practice has gone so far. At the interview, you will be asked to provide a short assessment and treatment to one of our osteopaths.

If you have any further questions regarding the role then please email Jay Ruddock at jay@alignbodyclinic.co.uk.
